ISC High Performance 2026

ISC High Performance 2026

Starfish Storage is coming back to ISC in Hamburg. With 3,500+ attendees working across HPC, AI, and quantum computing, it’s where the most technical conversations about large-scale infrastructure happen. Our kind of crowd.

Starfish was built for HPC-scale environments. We scan and index billions of files across Lustre, GPFS, NFS, object stores, and cloud tiers, creating a unified metadata catalog so you can actually manage data at scale. Not just store it… understand it.

Massive shared file systems, thousands of users, storage budgets that never keep up. We’ve been solving these problems at supercomputing sites and research centers worldwide. Come see us at ISC and we’ll walk you through it.

Talk Track Title: Starfish: The World's Most Scalable and Versatile Unstructured Data Management Platform

Session Overview
If file-based data is vital to your organization's mission, you will have need for Starfish! The more files you have, the more users you have, the more instruments you have. . . the more you need Starfish. Starfish works across your entire file estate — HPC file systems, enterprise NAS, object stores, and tape archives — to provide visibility, data movement, workflow, and orchestration. Starfish provides a global index of all file and directory content, a metadata system for organizing and classifying file content, and a common API for bespoke file management. Most recently, we have developed MCPs for enabling AI and chatbots to facilitate file storage management and analysis. Starfish enables all of your file data stakeholders (admins, users, stewards, governors, and curators) to participate in file data management.

Discussion Questions
How are high-performance data platforms evolving beyond individual technologies like parallel file systems and burst buffers?
Discuss your solution in terms of benefits for specific use cases, rather than general horizontal terms like HPC, AI, performance, or scalability.
As discussed, we already have 9 people who have confirmed attendance for his talk.
